Welcome to our Spring Showcase!
What is a showcase course?
Showcase courses focus on teaching you a choreographed routine that will be performed on stage in front of your friends and family. Practices will take place once a week and will run for two hours, an hour and a half is dedicated to teaching you the choreography, while the last half hour is open for students to stay and practice or for instructors to use at their discretion
The teacher will guide you within the 8 weeks to ensure you are fully ready to perform on the day of the show. This would include training you in various areas such as choreo retention, stage performance, how to take direction and dance with formations, drilling, personalized feedback, and insight on how to improve your dancing.
When and where is the Showcase?
The 2025 Spring Showcase will be taking place at Isabel Badder Theatre ( 93 Charles St W, Toronto, ON M5S 2C7) on Saturday, April 19.
Note: Please book off any prior commitments and ensure you are free for the full day of the show as you will be required for tech and dress rehearsal.
When Should I Sign up?
We encourage everybody to sign up as soon as possible, not only will you take advantage of the early bird pricing but it will also prevent us from canceling courses that you and others may be interested in.
Reference the dates below to ensure you sign up in time
Cut-offs for non-audition courses will start January 29th
Cut-offs for audition Courses will Start on January 20th
What does it mean when a course is auditioned?
For higher-level courses, students will pay to attend an in-person assessment where the instructor will teach them a choreography, this will either be the choreography that will be taught in the course or a choreography the teacher may see fit to assess the student’s level. They will then see how well the student learns in a real class setting and will evaluate who may best fit the piece at this time.
Alternatively, you can submit a video in case you are unable to make it to the in-person audition. The video submissions should be sent to our email ([email protected]) with your first/last name and ensure the title of the course you are auditioning for is included. The deadline for video submission is a day before the in-person audition.
All applicants can expect to receive an email letting them know whether they did or didn’t make it into the course. Emails will be sent out within 48 hours after the in-person audition date.
Note: For K-pop courses, be sure to send in a video of you dancing to the choreography of the course you will be taking. ( the pre-chorus and chorus are more than enough
For any other courses be sure to send a video that best captures your dance ability with the same details and the name of the course you are auditioning for.
Courses with auditions will honor the early bird pricing if you book or submit your audition within the early bird timeframe.
Tickets?
Tickets will be available for purchase a month before the event is scheduled, students who are enrolled get priority. Whatever is then left, is sold to the public.
Refund and exchange policies?
Please note that Showcase courses are final sale and non-refundable. Courses will only be refunded if they get canceled. Alternatively, we can transfer you over to a different course or provide in-store credit only.
