Desiree Joy is a multidisciplinary dancer and teacher who works and trains professionally in hip hop, jazz, contemporary, heels and jazz funk.
Originally from Saskatchewan, she was a competition dancer who trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical and tap her whole life. Desiree moved to Toronto to pursue dance by starting off at George Brown College taking the Commercial Dance Program. Then she was a part of Kode Red from seasons 1-3, training in hip hop and commercial styles under Jac Valiquette.
Desiree had the opportunity to be a part of numerous music videos, notably Karan Aujla’s “Making Memories”. You can spot her in the newest Osmows’ commercial, premiered at the Super Bowl. Dancing on stages all over Toronto, Desiree’s been a part of Kode reds “Eternal Flame” and “Rouge”, as well as travelled to New York and Vancouver to perform for “The Show Before the Show” by StageKeep and “Main Event”. Desiree also teaches weekly heels and contemporary classes at DancelifeX and a few programs throughout the year as well. Desiree likes to focus heavily on technique and strength while bringing style, storytelling and elegance into her choreography and classes
