How To Involve Your Guests On Your Wedding Day
With bustling bridesmaids and persevering planners, it may be hard to get time to socialise with your guests. By following these tips, you can involve them in your wedding and give them a day they definitely won’t forget.
A Warm Welcome
Have the groom and his groomsmen greet all the guests at the door of the venue to say a quick hello, welcome them to the ceremony, and give out any programmes or schedules as they enter if necessary. To mix it up, the bride could walk closely through the guests instead of walking down an aisle so she can greet everybody just before she reaches the altar, giving everyone a good look at the dress and showing them how excited (or nervous!) she is.
Ask For Blessings
To make all of your guests included in the ceremony on your big day, consider asking them for a verbal blessing just after you get hitched. Alternatively, avoid queues of people lining to speak to you and ask them to write down a special blessing in your guestbook or on an item you cherish. This will make them feel like a valued and treasured part of your day.
Handmade Favours
Leave a handwritten, personalised note on the table places for your guests to enjoy reading when they sit down. It could include a funny or special moment you’ve had with them to remind them why you’ve been invited and how much it means to you. It will be a talking point for the entire table, plus something that your friends and family can take home as a keepsake!
Get Them To Be Photographers
By placing disposable cameras in the centre of all the tables during your wedding breakfast, your guests can become the photographers. Not only do they have fun experimenting and taking different shots, but they will reveal another perspective of your wedding to you! Once you have the cameras developed, you’ll be able to see what they were up to on the day and they will be able to remember the event through their eyes.
Give Them A Surprise
Whether it’s a special first dance that makes their jaws drop, or a spectacular firework display at the end of the night, a surprise will do wonders to make your guests enjoy the day as much as you. Get brainstorming with your partner to come up with an extra special idea to stun your guests and give them an event they won’t want to forget!
Make The Speeches Personal
A great way to make all of your guests feel involved is to reminisce on sentimental moments during your speeches. You could share stories and photos about how you know everyone that is attending your wedding – it will take people back in time to remember those moments, plus all your guests will get to know each other if they don’t already! So get writing, have some fun, and if all else fails…make your guests laugh!
